Cant Stop the Honor Killings

A 17 year old Kurdish girl was beaten and stoned to death by members of her family after she was seen with a Sunni man and assumed to have converted to Sunnism. Read the CNN article here

Honor killings happen all over the world and there is nothing that can be done to stop them. Governments, International organizations and peaceniks can protest and and sign as many documents they want that condemn the acts of violence but they still will continue to happen. The action of saving ones family honor by killing a relative is deemed culturally acceptable by some and it is their right to do so.

Governments may be cracking down on these killings in their countries but the culprits carry out the acts fully knowing the consequences of their actions. People killed in these acts will merely become one more statistic in a book and it will continue to happen.
